Background
Danielle Melton is a board-certified physiatrist and Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine with joint appointments in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Surgery. She holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University and completed medical school and residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She joined CU in July 2022 to help expand the UCHealth Osseointegration and Limb Restoration Program, where she now co-directs alongside Dr. Stoneback, and separately directs the Amputation Medicine and Rehabilitation Program and the CU Center for Prosthetics. Her clinical focus is non-surgical rehabilitation for limb salvage and amputation, including prosthetic design, pre- and post-prosthetic management, and long-term continuity of care; her research covers phantom limb pain, prosthetic innovation and a DoD-funded comparison of socket versus bone-anchored prostheses.
