Background
Dr. Reid graduated from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1985, completed a general surgery residency and an orthopaedic surgery residency, both at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center (1993). He is Professor of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Penn State College of Medicine and consulted on development of the MaxFrame Autostrut, an automated hexapod external fixator that adjusts itself up to 16 times a day rather than requiring manual strut adjustments; Hershey was among the first US sites to use it, in August 2022. His research spans orthopaedic trauma outcomes and biomechanics.
