Background
Dr. Sharkey earned a BA in biochemistry from Wellesley College (1999) and her MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (2004). She completed a general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at UCSF, followed by a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She is Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics, Co-Director of Pediatric Orthopedics and Vice Chair of Faculty Development and Engagement at Montefiore Einstein, focusing on operative and nonoperative treatment of pediatric musculoskeletal problems, with particular emphasis on bone and foot deformities, limb-length discrepancy and metabolic bone disease.
