Background
Donghoon Lee is Director of the Donghoon Advanced Lengthening Reconstruction Institute (DALRI), Seongnam, South Korea. He earned his medical degree from Yonsei University College of Medicine and a PhD from Korea University's Department of Anatomy, completing residency at Gangnam Severance Hospital and fellowships at Severance Hospital and Samsung Medical Center. He undertook further clinical fellowship training at the Paley Advanced Limb Lengthening Institute (St. Mary Medical Center, Florida, US) and the Baltimore Limb Deformity Course, Sinai Hospital. He was formerly an associate professor of limb lengthening and reconstruction at CHA Bundang and Yonsei Severance Hospitals, and is credited as the first surgeon in Asia to implant the PRECICE/STRYDE intramedullary nail.
