Background
Dr. León Mora Herrera graduated from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín (1996) and has been in clinical practice since 1985, accumulating over 38 years of experience in complex orthopedic reconstruction, bone infection management, and limb lengthening. He was the first surgeon in Colombia to perform PRECICE intramedullary nail bone lengthening (February 2018) and has since implanted over 100 PRECICE devices. In July 2024 he co-launched Instituto Paley LatinoAmérica in Medellín in partnership with world-renowned Dr. Dror Paley — the Paley Institute's first Latin American site — bringing the highest-tier deformity correction protocols to Colombia. He directs a fellowship in Reconstructive Surgery at CORA Group and has contributed over 50 international conference presentations and published in the Journal of Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction.
