Background
Manuele Lampasi, born in 1976, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in paediatric neuro-orthopaedics. He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Rome's Sapienza University and specialized in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, where he later headed the Neuro-Orthopaedics service and introduced the Ponseti method for congenital clubfoot. He completed fellowships in Lyon, Barcelona, Marseille, London and Basel, and at age 40 was appointed Head of Paediatric Orthopaedics at Florence's Meyer Children's Hospital, where he helped establish a new neuro-orthopaedics center. He is the only Italian member of the International Hip Dysplasia Institute and belongs to the Italian (SITOP) and European (EPOS) paediatric orthopaedics societies. Having performed more than 2,500 procedures as primary surgeon, he founded the OrtoPediatria group in 2020 and the OrthoChildren Center in Bologna in 2024.
