Dr. Milind Chaudhary, MS (Orth), is the director of the Centre for Ilizarov Techniques (CFIT) / International Deformity & Limb Lengthening Institute in Akola, Maharashtra, which he has run continuously since 1989 — among the longest-running dedicated Ilizarov/limb-reconstruction practices in India. He trained with Prof. G. A. Ilizarov himself in Kurgan, Russia (three visits, from 1988) and was Dr. Dror Paley's first clinical fellow (1988). Over more than three decades he has performed upwards of 4,000 reconstructive operations, delivered 300+ lectures at Indian conferences and 50+ internationally, and has trained more than 90 orthopaedic surgeons through CFIT's fellowship programme.
