Background
Qin Sihe is honorary president and chief of orthopaedic surgery at the National Research Center for Rehabilitation Technical Aids' Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital in Beijing, where he leads the department alongside Jiao Shaofeng and Shao Bo. He was the first Chinese surgeon to study the Ilizarov method in Russia and introduce it to mainland China, and founded and chaired ASAMI-China in 2003; he also chairs the ILLRS/ASAMI China Desk. Over roughly 36 years in orthopaedic surgery he has performed more than 36,000 limb-correction procedures, including thousands for cerebral palsy and post-polio deformity, and has published more than 400 papers and 12 monographs. He is a recipient of a State Council special allowance.
