Editorial note

Listed in July 2026 after the surgeon contacted us. He is here for an unusual reason: he designed the fixator he operates with, and in 2025 he published the first peer-reviewed account of it in International Orthopaedics — 1,103 lower-limb reconstructions between 2000 and 2024, including 193 stature-lengthening cases. Verified: that paper, the device, his doctoral training in external fixation at CITO Moscow (1987–1991), his SICOT record (he chaired a session at the 16th European SICOT Trainees' Meeting in 2009), and the Frankfurt working arrangement with his co-author Dr. Michael Schmidt (OUZ Orthopädisches Zentrum). He publishes and is introduced as Prof. Dr. Ghassan Salameh, MD, PhD. The credentials we can source directly are the 1983 medical degree from the First Medical Institute, Saint Petersburg, and the 1987–1991 doctoral fellowship in external fixation at CITO, Moscow, both from his own published CV; his 2025 paper lists his affiliation as the Salamehfix Limb Lengthening Center, Tartous, Syria, and SICOT programmes list him from Damascus and later Tartous. No university chair is named on any source we found, so we describe the training we can verify rather than attaching the title to an institution. What does not exist at brand level: a Google Business listing, an independent patient-review footprint, or a published price list — hence Tier 3. Read the complication figures in the paper carefully: 25 superficial pin-site infections, 9 contractures and one deep infection across 1,103 patients is far below what the external-fixation literature usually reports, it is retrospective and reported by the device's own designer, and no independent team has reproduced it. On price: the only figure we can find anywhere is €25,000 for surgery in Germany, said by the surgeon himself in a patient-forum answer around 2024 and described as covering aftercare, accommodation, medication and physiotherapy — a forum remark, not a published price list, so treat it as indicative and ask for a written quote. He splits his work between Frankfurt and Tartous, so confirm where you would actually be treated.

Why we listed this clinic

The surgeon designed the external fixator he operates with. His 2025 International Orthopaedics paper reports 1,103 reconstructions with the device between 2000 and 2024 — one of the largest single-system series published in limb reconstruction.

Verification covers: named surgeon credentials, hospital affiliation, methods offered, public-facing website, and regulatory status. We re-verify quarterly. If a clinic fails a re-verification, we add an editorial note or demote its tier — we do not quietly remove it.

Independence: this clinic cannot pay to change its ranking, Directory Score, tier, or reviews. Paid options affect presentation only and are always labeled. We take no commission and charge no per-patient fee. Editorial policy.
