Background
Dr. Christian Huamaní Medina trained in general medicine at Universidad Nacional de San Agustín (Arequipa) and completed his orthopedic specialization at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima. His shoulder and knee subspecialty was completed at Clínica MEDS in Santiago, Chile (2015–2016), with additional fellowships in Miami, Medellín, Paris, and Buenos Aires (2015–2018). He developed and patented the HMC external fixation system — formally recognised by Peru's INDECOPI intellectual property office — which is used at Arthromeds for bone deformity correction, lengthening, and bone transport. He heads the Shoulder & Knee Unit and coordinates the Bone Lengthening & Infections Unit at Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza. He was awarded by Peru's Congress for excellence in treating bone infections and complex reconstructions, and was selected to represent Peru at the AAOS Congress.
