Background
Herzenberg is emeritus faculty at the International Center for Limb Lengthening and has retired from providing patient care. He earned his medical degree at Boston University, completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University and a pediatric orthopedics fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, followed by limb-lengthening training with Professor Ilizarov in the USSR (1989) and Professor Maurizio Catagni in Italy. Before Baltimore he held faculty positions at the University of Michigan and University of Maryland. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and received POSNA's 2016 Humanitarian Award.
