Background
Prof Elbatrawy founded CICLLR in 1996 and has since performed over 4,000 limb lengthening procedures, including 400+ cosmetic stature lengthenings since 2002. He trained with the world's foremost limb lengthening authorities — Maurizio Catagni, Dror Paley, John Herzenberg, and at the Ilizarov Institute in Siberia — and was Egypt's youngest physician to receive the State Encouragement Prize (age 29, 1997). He received best research awards at SICOT Paris (2001) and Eurotrauma Graz (2007). He has been featured by BBC 4 and Fox News and is an annual instructor at the University of Maryland's international limb lengthening course. He pioneered Ponseti club-foot treatment in Egypt from 1998 and serves as Secretary-General of the Second International Congress on External Fixation (Cairo, 2007).
