Background
Austin Fragomen is Chief of the Limb Lengthening and Complex Reconstruction Service at Hospital for Special Surgery and a Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He earned his MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center (1997), completed a general surgery internship at Montefiore Medical Center, an orthopedic surgery residency at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, a shoulder and knee surgery fellowship in San Francisco (2004), and a limb lengthening and reconstruction fellowship at HSS (2005). He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (2007), served as President Emeritus of the Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction Society-ASAMI North America and currently serves as its Treasurer, and sits on the AAOS Board of Subspecialty Societies.
