Background
Dr Jean-Marc Guichet qualified in medicine at the University of Burgundy (Dijon) and obtained a Master of Science in Human Biology from the University of Aix-Marseilles II. He conducted postdoctoral research at NYU Langone Medical Center and holds two PhDs — one from New York University and one from Marseille — covering biomechanics, implant design, and bone healing. He invented the Albizzia nail in 1987 (with Prof. Paul Marie Grammont) and subsequently patented the Guichet Nail in 2009, both fully weight-bearing intramedullary lengthening devices. He has practised at Princess Grace Hospital London since 2014 and Columbus Clinic Centre Milan since 2010, and over 30 years has performed more than 600 limb lengthening procedures including over 400 Albizzia and over 150 cosmetic cases.
